There are 2,400 camping sites in Banff National Park's 14 campgrounds.
Most of Banff's camping is seasonal from mid-May to mid-October,
but there is one campground in Banff and one in Lake Louise that is open year-round.

Only 25 km from the town of Banff, Johnston Canyon Campground is a good option for a more rustic and authentic camping experience. Sites are available for tents and small RVs up to 8.2 metres (27 feet). Its central location, along the Bow Valley Parkway (Hwy 1A), provides access to the popular Johnston Canyon Trail. Roam Public Transit is available to the town of Banff during summer.
